Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini receives Sher-e-Punjab award from Global Punjabi Association for promoting social harmony and Sikh community welfare.

According to a government statement, this honor was bestowed upon him in appreciation of his unwavering dedication to social harmony, inspiring leadership, and diligent efforts to improve the well-being of the Sikh community in Haryana.

At the Tagore Theatre in Chandigarh, Saini attended the event and expressed her gratitude to Guru Teg Bahadur.

The book “Tilak Janju Ka Rakha,” which was authored in Hindi by Iqbal Singh Lalpura, the principal patron of the Global Punjabi Association, was released by the chief minister on this occasion. This book is a comprehensive, research-based account of the life, travels, and supreme sacrifice of Guru Teg Bahadur, the ninth Guru of the Sikhs.

Saini stated in his address that Guru Teg Bahadur’s name signifies the preservation of religious freedom and compassion throughout the history of India, a cause for which he even laid down his life. Despite the challenging circumstances of Aurangzeb’s dominion, the act of sitting on the Guru’s throne resulted in animosity toward the emperor. According to Saini, Guru Teg Bahadur embraced the Guru’s position with fearlessness and dedication. He also stated that Kashmiri Pandits sought Guru Teg Bahadur’s protection for their faith when they witnessed injustice.

Guru Teg Bahadur sacrificed his head on November 11, 1675, to safeguard Hinduism at the time. “He sacrificed his life, yet he maintained his faith,” Saini stated.

A profound relationship has existed between Haryana and all of the Sikh Gurus. Gurdwaras have been constructed in their memory at over 30 locations in Haryana, regardless of their location,” he stated. He also mentioned that the Haryana government is working with a spirit of service for the welfare of all communities, drawing inspiration from the Sikh tradition.
