Chandigarh: Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced that the state government, under the National Health Mission (NHM), has designated 100 health institutions as First Referral Units in Haryana to strengthen secondary healthcare services. This initiative aims to provide timely and quality medical treatment, particularly to pregnant women and newborns in rural and remote areas.

“These First Referral Units in Haryana will offer 24-hour emergency services, including maternity care, newborn care, and blood storage facilities,” said Arti Singh. “Strengthening these FRUs will ensure immediate medical assistance and save lives in critical situations.”

The Health Minister emphasized that First Referral Units in Haryana will act as a crucial link between Primary Health Centres and tertiary hospitals. The government is focusing on improving infrastructure, deploying specialist staff, and making referral systems faster and more efficient.
