Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired the second meeting of the Board of Directors of Arjun SPV (AI for Resilient Jobs, Urban Air Quality & Next Generation Skills) in Chandigarh to review the annual action plan for 2026–27 under the Haryana Clean Air Project. The meeting focused on promoting clean air, sustainable urban development, and the use of advanced technologies to improve environmental outcomes across the state.
Focus on Technology for Clean Air and Sustainable Development
During the meeting, the Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure the effective use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence to promote clean air, green transport, and sustainable development. He emphasized that innovation and technology should be at the core of government initiatives aimed at improving urban air quality. The Haryana Clean Air Project will play a key role in driving these technology-based interventions.
Dedicated Portal for Scientific Disposal of Scrap Vehicles
To reduce pollution from old and unfit vehicles, Nayab Singh Saini directed officials to develop a dedicated online portal for the registration and scientific disposal of scrap vehicles. The digital platform is expected to make the vehicle scrapping process more transparent and efficient while supporting the objectives of the Haryana Clean Air Project by encouraging the removal of high-emission vehicles from the roads.

Push for EV Charging Stations and Electric Bus Services
The Chief Minister also directed departments to accelerate the establishment of electric vehicle charging stations across Haryana. He stressed the need to complete work related to electric bus services within the stipulated timeframe to strengthen the state’s green transport infrastructure. These initiatives are expected to significantly contribute to the success of the Haryana Clean Air Project by promoting cleaner mobility options.
