Surendranagar | Gujarat — The Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat unit has announced a large-scale Kisan Mahapanchayat to protest against the installation of electricity poles in farmers’ fields without consent or compensation. The event is scheduled for 27 June 2026 in Nagara village, Wadhwan taluka, Surendranagar district.
Party leaders said the Kisan Mahapanchayat in Surendranagar will focus on alleged injustice faced by farmers, particularly related to power transmission projects carried out by private companies. The announcement was made by Vikram Dave (AAP), who stated that farmers are being denied fair compensation despite land usage.
Kisan Mahapanchayat in Surendranagar to mobilize over 5,000 farmers
According to Vikram Dave (AAP), more than 5,000 farmers are expected to participate in the upcoming Mahapanchayat in Surendranagar. The gathering aims to raise strong concerns over alleged forced installation of electricity poles in agricultural land without proper consent or compensation.
He added that the issue is not limited to Surendranagar but is affecting farmers across several regions of Gujarat, making the Mahapanchayat in Surendranagar a significant statewide farmers’ mobilization.

Allegations of forced power line installation in fields
Speaking further, Vikram Dave (AAP) alleged that private power transmission companies are installing electricity poles in agricultural fields without adequate compensation. He also claimed that farmers are facing pressure during land acquisition and installation processes.
The issue of the Mahapanchayat in Surendranagar has been presented as a wider farmers’ rights movement against alleged unfair land acquisition practices.
