Snehanjali Society residents in Ghatlodia face demolition notice from AMC. AAP Gujarat demands justice and accountability from authorities.
Ahmedabad: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Gujarat unit has come out strongly in support of residents of Snehanjali Society in Ghatlodia after the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) issued a notice to demolish the society’s buildings, despite allegations that the residents were cheated by the builder.
According to information shared by AAP Gujarat on social media platform X, residents of Snehanjali Society claim they are victims of fraud by the builder. However, instead of initiating action against the builder responsible for the alleged irregularities, the civic body has moved to demolish the residential structures, putting hundreds of families at risk.

AAP leaders termed the move “deeply unjust” and questioned why ordinary residents are being penalised for the builder’s alleged wrongdoing. The party said that the demolition notice reflects a failure of accountability and governance, where powerful builders escape scrutiny while common citizens are made to suffer.
“The residents purchased their homes in good faith. If there has been any violation, the responsibility lies with the builder, not with the families living there,” AAP Gujarat stated, adding that the corporation should first take strict action against the builder instead of threatening demolition.

The party asserted that it stands firmly with the residents of Snehanjali Society and will raise the issue at every appropriate forum. AAP also demanded that the demolition notice be withdrawn immediately and that a fair investigation be conducted into the builder’s role.
The issue has triggered anxiety among residents, who fear displacement and financial loss. AAP leaders said such actions erode public trust and called on the civic administration to ensure justice for affected families rather than subjecting them to what they described as administrative high-handedness.
