Ahmedabad/Gujarat – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly criticized the BJP government over the AAP Gujarat Wheat Procurement process . According to AAP state general secretary and farmer leader Sagar Rabari, despite the government announcing the minimum support price (MSP) for wheat at ₹2,585 for 2026-27, farmers are receiving only ₹400 to ₹450 per quintal, resulting in losses of ₹300 to ₹585 per quintal.

Speaking through a video message, Sagar Rabari stated that the AAP Gujarat Wheat Procurement issue exposes the BJP government’s failure to protect farmers’ interests. “Even 15 days after the MSP announcement on March 4, not a single procurement center has started functioning. This forces farmers to sell their wheat at lower market prices,” he said.

Gujarat witnessed a 14% increase in wheat cultivation this year, totaling 13,03,172 hectares, including irrigated and non-irrigated fields. District-wise data shows the highest wheat cultivation in Rajkot (1,32,100 hectares), Junagadh (1,25,900 hectares), and Ahmedabad (1,20,400 hectares). Rabari questioned whether the delay in procurement is intended to allow traders to collect election funds for the BJP at the expense of farmers.
