CM Bhagwant  Mann addresses media in Gujarat, showcasing Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana, free electricity, and inclusive development programs for all citizens.

Ahmedabad : Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who has led the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in implementing transformative welfare schemes and development initiatives across Punjab, is currently on a visit to Gujarat. He addressed the media in Ahmedabad during a press conference, accompanied by AAP leaders including Punjab in-charge Gopal Rai, Gujarat state president Isudan Gadhvi, MLAs Gopal Italia and Chaitar Vasava, and state general secretary Manoj Sorathiya.

During the press briefing, CM Mann highlighted the revolutionary health policy implemented by the Punjab government under the “Mukhyamantri Sehat Yojana,” which provides free medical treatment up to ₹10 lakh for every family without any income-based or other conditions. The only requirement for registration is an Aadhaar card. Mann emphasized that the scheme ensures that no family has to mortgage property or sell valuables to afford treatment, covering all types of diseases including kidney and knee transplants, dialysis, heart ailments, and mental health conditions. The program also includes government employees and pensioners, ensuring complete coverage without restrictive conditions.

Mann explained that the health program is designed to prevent financial hardship caused by sudden illnesses. Under the scheme, the government bears all treatment costs up to ₹10 lakh per year for each family, irrespective of the number of family members or the number of illnesses occurring in a year. Once the annual limit is exhausted, the coverage is renewed for the next year. Mann also pointed out that such a comprehensive health insurance scheme is not available in countries like the US, Canada, New Zealand, or Australia, making it unique for India.

He further elaborated on the state’s development initiatives, including free electricity for households up to 600 units per month, benefiting nearly 90% of Punjab residents. Punjab also contributes significantly to the country’s grain stock, providing about 18.5 million metric tons of rice and 12.5 million metric tons of wheat annually. Mann emphasized that all sections of society are included in these welfare programs, ensuring equitable access to benefits.

CM Mann also criticized the governance in Gujarat, stating that despite BJP’s 30-year rule, the state has seen little development, and the Congress party is almost non-existent. He highlighted that AAP’s appeal lies in addressing the real concerns of the people, from farmers to tribal communities, and delivering programs that benefit every citizen. Mann called upon the people of Gujarat to embrace change, asserting that AAP represents a government by the people, for the people, where welfare and development initiatives reach all, and every citizen’s vote holds equal value.

AAP continues to strengthen its organizational presence in Gujarat, aiming to replicate its successful governance models from Punjab and Delhi, focusing on health, education, and citizen-centric welfare.
