Ahmedabad/Gujarat — The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP Gujarat ) organized a press conference in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, led by State General Secretary Sagar Rabari, Frontal Organization State President Praveen Ram, and State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Karan Barot.

Addressing the gathering, Praveen Ram said that AAP Gujarat has always fought for the interests of farmers in Gujarat and across India, from the Haddad site farmers’ protests to various state-level issues. He expressed concern that the India-US trade deal could severely harm the country’s farmers. The party pledged full support to farmers’ organizations and unions raising their voices against the agreement and announced a state-wide campaign titled “Trade Deal Hatao, Kisan Bachao” (Stop the Trade Deal, Save Farmers).

The campaign is set to run from February 14 to March 9 and will involve strong ground-level movements throughout Gujarat. The schedule of activities includes:

AAP Gujarat to Continue Uninterrupted Fight for Farmers, Public Updates on Upcoming Programs Planned

Praveen Ram emphasized that AAP is a movement for the people, and the fight to protect farmers will continue without pause. Detailed plans of upcoming programs will be shared publicly through banners and events.

Speaking at the press conference, AAP Gujarat Ledaer Sagar Rabari criticized the India-US trade deal, saying it poses a serious threat to India’s sovereignty, economic policy, and agriculture sector. He alleged that the agreement endangers farming, livestock, textiles, and the diamond industry. Rabari highlighted that while cows are considered sacred in India, the US views them merely as production animals. Allowing dairy imports with zero duty could prove disastrous for Indian livestock farmers.

Rabari further warned that free access for American agricultural and industrial products in India, while Indian goods face duties in the US, could severely impact the textile industry and cotton cultivation, causing economic distress for farmers. He accused the Indian government of not disclosing full details of the trade deal, while the US Agriculture Minister openly stated that the deal opens India’s vast market for American farmers and livestock producers.

He concluded by asserting that AAP Gujarat , as a responsible national party, will educate the public about the potential harms of the trade deal and launch state-wide campaigns and movements to protect India’s farmers, livestock breeders, and industries. The party vowed to oppose any step that compromises national interests and safeguard the rights and livelihoods of Indian farmers.
