AAP Praveen Ram Alleges BJP Pressure Behind Raju Karpada’s Resignation in Gujarat

AAP Gujarat’s Frontal Organization State President Praveen Ram addressed the resignation of Raju Karpada, shedding light on the circumstances behind the decision. He stated that both he and Karpada had spent 108 days together in jail, including time in Bhavnagar and Rajkot jails.

According to Praveen Ram, Karpada’s resignation stems from concerns over two longstanding cases under Section 307 against him—one dating back to 2015 and another still pending. One case had already resulted in a five-year sentence from the Surendranagar court. Karpada repeatedly expressed worry about facing further imprisonment, which could prevent him from contesting elections. Ram alleged that pressure tactics by the BJP exploited these past cases, creating fear and forcing Karpada to resign.

Praveen Ram hints Karpada’s next move, says joining BJP would confirm resignation under pressure, not personal grievance.

Praveen Ram added that it will soon be revealed which party Karpada joins next. He emphasized that if Karpada were to join the BJP, it would indicate that the resignation was coerced through pressure, not personal disagreement, since someone resigning out of dissatisfaction would not immediately join another party.

Praveen Ram also questioned the circumstances surrounding Karpada’s early release on bail on the 31st of the month, noting that the process appeared unusually fast. He called on Rajkot and Bhavnagar jail authorities to release CCTV footage to clarify the matter and provide transparency regarding alleged meetings with BJP representatives during his incarceration.

AAP Gujarat stressed that all details surrounding Karpada’s resignation and bail should be publicly clarified to reveal the truth.
