Ahmedabad: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gopal Italia has appealed to citizens across Gujarat to actively participate in the upcoming Gujarat Gram Sabha Meeting 2026 scheduled for June 5, coinciding with World Environment Day.
In a video message, Italia urged villagers to attend the gram sabhas in large numbers, emphasizing that these meetings are a crucial platform for discussing development issues and ensuring transparency in governance at the village level.
Gujarat Gram Sabha Meeting 2026 to Focus on Village Development
According to the MLA, the Gujarat Gram Sabha Meeting 2026 will be held in all villages across the state at different times, where district-level officials will interact with residents and address local issues and concerns.
He stated that decisions regarding development works will be taken based on discussions held during the gram sabha, making it an important opportunity for citizens to directly engage in the decision-making process.

Gopal Italia Calls for Maximum Participation
During his appeal for the Gujarat Gram Sabha Meeting 2026, Gopal Italia encouraged citizens who are interested in village development, governance, and public welfare to attend the meetings without fail.
He also urged people to stay informed about the timing of their respective gram sabhas by contacting local panchayat officials, sarpanch, talati, or taluka development officers.
Emphasis on Transparency and Accountability
The Gujarat Gram Sabha Meeting 2026 initiative, as highlighted by Italia, is aimed at strengthening grassroots democracy and ensuring accountability of government officials. He added that if any official fails to attend the meeting, villagers have the right to contact them and ensure their presence.
Italia emphasized that such participation will help improve development outcomes and strengthen communication between citizens and administration.
Call for Active Civic Engagement
The AAP leader further appealed to citizens to share information about the Gujarat Gram Sabha Meeting 2026 widely so that more people can participate in the democratic process at the village level.
He stressed that real development can only be achieved when citizens actively engage in governance and take responsibility for their own villages’ progress, making gram sabhas a powerful tool for grassroots transformation.
