Gopal Italia has written a letter to the Chief Minister of Gujarat, raising serious concerns over the ongoing farmers’ agitation related to the installation of electricity poles on agricultural land. The issue has triggered widespread protests across several districts, where farmers are demanding justice and intervention from the government.
In his communication, Gopal Italia stated that farmers from Morbi, Kutch, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, Junagadh, and other regions are protesting peacefully, including some who have been on hunger strike for several days. He urged the government to immediately engage in dialogue with the affected farmers and resolve the matter through consultation.
Farmers’ Protest Over Electricity Pole Installation
Gopal highlighted that farmers are opposing the installation of electricity poles by private companies on their farmland. According to him, the protest is completely peaceful, yet the administration has not initiated any direct talks with the farmers.
Gopal Italia emphasized that ignoring peaceful protests could lead to increased frustration among farmers across the state.
Allegations of Government Inaction
The AAP leader alleged that despite the peaceful nature of the agitation, authorities have failed to respond appropriately. He pointed out that farmers feel unheard even after prolonged demonstrations.
Gopal further stated that the situation requires immediate attention to prevent escalation and ensure fair resolution of grievances.
Protests Spread Across Gujarat Villages
Reports suggest that the agitation has spread across multiple districts including Morbi, Kutch, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Rajkot, and Junagadh. Farmers in several villages continue to demand reconsideration of policies related to land use and electricity infrastructure.
Gopal said that the widespread nature of the protests reflects deep concern among rural communities.

Gopal has appealed to the Chief Minister to personally meet the protesting farmers and initiate dialogue. He stressed that peaceful engagement is the only way to resolve the ongoing dispute.
