Arvind Kejriwal addresses thousands at AAP workers’ conference in Gujarat, accusing BJP of blocking rallies and failing farmers, youth, and public welfare.
Ahmedabad, Gujarat: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is on a tour of Gujarat, holding a booth-level workers’ conference at Lodriyal village in Sanand. The event was attended by a large number of party leaders, including Gujarat in-charge Gopal Rai, co-in-charge Durgesh Pathak, state president Isudan Gadhvi, Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia, party general secretary Manoj Saurathia, farmer leader Sagar Rabari, youth wing president Brijraj Solanki, vice president Gauri Desai, and several others. Despite the last-minute venue change to Lodriyal village, thousands of workers turned out.
Addressing the workers, Kejriwal clarified that the gathering was not a public rally, but an organizational meeting for booth, taluka, and district-level party functionaries. He added that the overwhelming turnout demonstrated growing public support for AAP in Gujarat.
Kejriwal alleged that the BJP government in Gujarat, in power for the last 30 years, was resorting to intimidation and misuse of administrative machinery to prevent AAP meetings. “The BJP is afraid of the revolutionary workers we have trained in Gujarat,” he said. He cited incidents where AAP events were disrupted in Ahmedabad’s Nikol area—stages were broken, chairs thrown, and permissions canceled—but workers remained undeterred and organized meetings successfully.
ArvindKejriwal pic.twitter.com/011ci8FjX8

He also highlighted a recent controversy involving Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia, where a person threw a shoe at him. Kejriwal claimed the individual admitted in a video that a BJP leader had paid him ₹50,000 and alcohol to carry out the act, exposing BJP’s alleged conspiracy.

Kejriwal criticized BJP governance over the past three decades, saying farmers, youth, women, traders, and industrialists are facing hardships. “Farmers are not getting fair prices for crops, education and health facilities are deteriorating, and youth are being pushed towards substance abuse instead of employment. If BJP had made Gujarat truly prosperous, why would thousands gather for AAP meetings?” he asked. He expressed confidence that, like in Delhi and Punjab, AAP would achieve power in Gujarat in the 2027 elections. He urged workers to continue the fight against corruption, misuse of power, and injustice, calling it a battle of truth versus money and authority.
Gujarat in-charge Gopal Rai said that AAP’s momentum in the state is growing rapidly. He added that while the BJP is not afraid of individual leaders or MLAs, it fears revolutionary workers who act independently, which is why meetings are disrupted at night. “AAP’s workers organized a meeting at 3 a.m. despite all obstacles. Within two hours, thousands stood boldly against BJP’s power,” he said.
State president Isudan Gadhvi condemned the BJP’s alleged use of government machinery to stop AAP gatherings. He emphasized that AAP is a party of ordinary citizens, born from the struggles of common people, and fights for farmers, youth, and public welfare. He accused the BJP of failing to improve schools, hospitals, and roads, and said the people of Gujarat are now aware of this and are ready for change.
Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia echoed these claims, stating that the BJP tried to prevent AAP meetings due to fear of increasing public awareness. “If the BJP had genuinely served the people, there would have been no need to block our rallies. The public is joining us voluntarily, and the government is nervous,” he said.
The leaders concluded the conference by urging workers to continue their fight for truth, justice, and better governance in Gujarat, asserting that the people’s power will overcome corruption and tyranny.
