Ahmedabad : Senior Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat  leader and National Joint Secretary Rajubhai Solanki visited injured elected Taluka Panchayat member Praveen Makwana at a private hospital in Botad following a serious life-threatening attack. The development has sparked strong political reactions, with the incident being widely discussed within Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat circles and raising concerns about safety of elected representatives.

Rajubhai Solanki strongly condemned the attack and said that Praveen Makwana was targeted because of his electoral victory. He claimed that the attack is linked to the recent Taluka Panchayat and District Panchayat elections. According to him, the growing public support for Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat has created discomfort among rival political forces, leading to an atmosphere of fear and pressure on opposition candidates.

He alleged that during the local body elections, several opposition candidates were forced to withdraw nominations under pressure, intimidation, and fear tactics involving various influential elements. Despite such conditions, Praveen Makwana contested the election independently and won his Taluka Panchayat seat by 87 votes. The AAP leader stated that this victory became the reason behind the attack, which he described as an attempt to suppress democratic voices within Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat.

The party has reiterated that such incidents should not be tolerated in a democratic system and justice must be ensured at the earliest.
