Karan Barot, the chief spokesperson of Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat, has strongly criticized the continuous increase in fuel and gas prices, stating that the fuel price hike is placing a heavy burden on farmers, transport operators, and middle-class families.
He said that repeated increases in petrol, diesel, and commercial gas prices have significantly raised daily living costs. According to him, the fuel price hike is not only affecting vehicle owners but also increasing the prices of essential commodities due to higher transportation expenses.
Fuel Price Hike and Policy Concerns Over Inflation and Household Savings
Barot alleged that even when global crude oil prices declined earlier, the benefit was not passed on to consumers. He claimed that the fuel price hike reflects poor policy decisions that are increasing inflation and reducing household savings.
He further questioned why petroleum products have still not been included under the GST framework, arguing that such a move could reduce financial pressure on citizens. He added that the fuel price hike continues to hit farmers and small businesses the hardest.

The AAP leader also emphasized that rising fuel costs are directly impacting agriculture and transport sectors, making farming more expensive and goods distribution costlier. He said the fuel price hike is worsening the overall economic burden on common people.

Barot demanded immediate relief measures and urged the government to take steps to control inflation and stabilize fuel prices.
