AAP leader Gopal Italia criticizes BJP’s 30-year rule in Gujarat, saying government offices no longer listen to citizens’ concerns.
Gujarat: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Gopal Italia has launched a sharp critique of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), citing its 30-year-long rule in Gujarat as a cause for administrative neglect. Italia stated that government offices have become unresponsive to citizens’ concerns, leaving residents without proper avenues to raise grievances.
“The result of 30 years of BJP’s totalitarian rule in Gujarat is that now there is no one in government offices to listen to the people,” Gopal Italia said, highlighting what he sees as a systemic disconnect between the government and citizens.
Gopal_Italia pic.twitter.com/yS4RrWm7n7

According to AAP, prolonged BJP governance has created a bureaucratic environment where public complaints are often ignored, and citizens struggle to access essential services. Italia stressed the importance of accountability, transparency, and citizen-focused governance in remedying these issues.
Party leaders added that AAP plans to continue engaging directly with residents, ensuring that citizens’ voices are heard and highlighting areas where governance needs improvement.

Political analysts note that remarks like these reflect AAP’s strategy to position itself as a people-centric alternative in Gujarat, especially ahead of elections, contrasting with BJP’s long-standing dominance in the state.
The BJP has not responded to Italia’s statement, but the comments are expected to fuel debates about governance, public service delivery, and administrative responsiveness in Gujarat.
