Ahmedabad/Junagadh : During a recent visit, AAP Visavadar MLA Gopal Italia conducted a Facebook Live session to highlight concerns about the construction quality of a bridge in Junagadh, drawing attention to the use of low-grade materials in the project.
In his satirical live session, Gopal Italia remarked that while passing through the site, he noticed the bridge under construction and noted the government’s peculiar approach to safety. He said,
“The government seems so concerned about protecting people’s vehicles that they’ve made a bridge using extremely light materials. The moment you touch the bridge, it feels fragile. So, in case a vehicle collides, the bridge might break, but the vehicle and its occupants will remain safe.”

Gopal Italia further explained,: “It appears the government prioritizes vehicle safety over the bridge itself. Using lightweight materials ensures that if a collision occurs, the bridge may get damaged, but people will not be harmed. The bridge can be reconstructed later, but the people and their vehicles are irreplaceable. This is why the bridge has been built this way.”

Gopal Italia added that this use of lighter materials should not be interpreted as corruption or embezzlement. He clarified that the decision was intended to prevent harm to citizens and their vehicles, emphasizing the government’s concern for the common people, and even humorously thanked the BJP-led state government for this approach.
The MLA Gopal Italia Facebook Live session has sparked discussions about infrastructure quality and public safety, while also showcasing Italia’s characteristic blend of criticism and satire in addressing civic issues.
