New Delhi: Senior Aam Aadmi Party leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has raised serious concerns over an alleged gang rape incident reported inside a moving bus in Delhi, questioning the timing and manner in which the information was disclosed to the media by the police.

In a social media post, Bhardwaj referred to reports of a woman being allegedly gang-raped by a bus driver and conductor while the vehicle was moving through central Delhi areas, including Rani Bagh. He also questioned claims that the victim was later abandoned on the road after the incident.

According to Bhardwaj, the information was reportedly shared with the media by the Delhi Police at a delayed stage. He questioned the reasons behind the delay, asking whether there was an attempt to manage the situation internally before informing the public.

Allegations of Delay, Suppression and Handling of Case Timeline Raised

He further alleged that there may have been an effort to suppress or control the narrative around the incident for two days before it became public. Bhardwaj also questioned whether any pressure was exerted on the victim or whether the delay was linked to the arrest process of the accused.

Criticising the ruling party, he said the government had reduced governance to “social media reels,” alleging that citizens are being treated as passive spectators rather than stakeholders in accountability. He also targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party, questioning its handling of law and order in the national capital.

Bhardwaj raised concerns over Delhi’s law and order situation, asking how a serious crime could allegedly take place inside a moving bus in a central area for hours without timely intervention. He also sought clarity from the police commissioner regarding the sequence of events, delay in reporting, and steps being taken to prevent such incidents in the future.

Authorities have not yet issued a detailed response to the allegations made in the post.
