The political tension in Delhi escalated after the MCD ward committee election delay once again came under sharp criticism from the Aam Aadmi Party. Leader of Opposition in MCD, Ankush Narang, strongly attacked the BJP, alleging that the ruling party is repeatedly postponing elections due to internal conflicts and fear of losing control.

He further alleged that the decision reflects internal disorder within the BJP’s municipal setup and raises questions about transparency in administrative functioning.
Allegations of Internal Conflict in BJP
According to Narang, the MCD ward committee election delay is linked to intense internal competition within the BJP, including alleged disputes over zonal chairmanship positions. He claimed that several councillors are unhappy, and there is fear within the party of losing key zones to opposition candidates.
