AAP warns demolition of Aravalli hills will worsen Delhi pollution, accusing the Center of favoring industrial interests over the environment.
Anurag Dhanda, the national media in-charge for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), issued a statement warning that allowing the removal of the Aravalli hills to proceed will significantly exacerbate Delhi’s already dire pollution situation.
In response to the clarifications provided by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, Anurag Dhanda claimed that the protection of specific business interests was the Center’s top priority rather than the environment or the nation, and that the BJP government was pursuing a planned plan to destroy the Aravalli range at the request of its industrialist allies.
The Center is accused by the AAP of pushing a proposal for “commercial interests.”
According to Anurag Dhanda, AAP National Media In-charge, there are currently significant worries about the Aravalli range that are evident on social media and being voiced by a number of non-governmental organizations.
“The central government’s affidavit and its own request served as the foundation for the Supreme Court of India’s most recent ruling. The then-government also attempted something similar in 2010, but the Supreme Court categorically rejected it, according to Anurag Dhanda.

Anurag Dhanda questioned the purpose of returning the same idea, saying, “What sense does it make to propose it again since the Supreme Court has previously rejected it? There is undoubtedly a lobby or significant commercial interest driving this.
He claimed that this was the exact reason the administration revived the plan, was ready to put it into effect, and had the Supreme Court approve it.
A business lobby is being defended by the minister.
“That is why Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav is now coming forward to give clarifications, because he is not representing the people, he is representing a business house or a lobby,” he claimed.
The AAP National Media In-charge added that the government started to worry that they might have to back off once they realized that people were aware of the problem and that conversations had started about it.
“The lobby that got this done is now putting the Union Environment Minister in front to defend it,” he said.
“Serious Plan to Destroy the Aravalli Range”
In addition, Anurag Dhanda declared, “This is a very big conspiracy to destroy the Aravalli range, carried out at the signal of the central government and at the behest of one of its industrialist friends.”
“Very Dangerous” Environmental Repercussions
He claimed that people are gradually realizing how serious the pollution problem overhanging Delhi will get if the Aravalli range is demolished in this way and permission is freely provided to eliminate all hills below 100 meters.
Dhanda stated that “its environmental consequences will be extremely dangerous,” adding that the Union Environment Minister is merely making these claims to shield his friend who is an industrialist.
