AAP Delhi Says “Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan” Pledge by Pravesh Verma Was Misleading, Calls Out Eviction Notices

New Delhi – The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Delhi has strongly criticized BJP leader Pravesh Verma over the controversial housing policy for slum dwellers in the national capital.

AAP leaders allege that Pravesh Verma’s famed “Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan” (Where There’s a Slum, There’s a House) promise, made before elections under the solemn oath of Maa Durga, has been betrayed. Residents of several slum areas have reportedly received eviction notices, sparking outrage and protests.

Saurabh Bhardwaj, a senior AAP leader, stated, “Pravesh Verma swore by Maa Durga to provide homes for the poor, but now notices are being issued to demolish their houses so that a few builders can profit. This is a blatant betrayal of the Pravesh Verma Housing Promise.”

AAP Vows to Protect Slum Dwellers’ Homes, Challenges BJP’s “Pravesh Verma Housing Promise” Failures

AAP emphasized that the party stands firmly with the affected families and vowed to fight for their rights from the streets to the courts. “The BJP’s arbitrary actions will not be tolerated. We will ensure that every citizen’s home is protected,” Bhardwaj added.

The party has called on residents to unite and hold Pravesh Verma accountable for failing to uphold the “Jahan Jhuggi Wahan Makaan” pledge, reiterating that the Pravesh Verma Housing Promise was a commitment to Delhi’s marginalized communities that must not be ignored.

AAP also highlighted that the recent actions reflect a broader pattern of BJP policies targeting the poor, undermining affordable housing initiatives, and favoring commercial interests over citizen welfare.
