AAP MLA Sanjeev criticizes BJP for allegedly insulting Bhagat Singh, demands CM and party apologize to the nation.

New Delhi: AAP MLA Sanjeev has strongly criticized the BJP for allegedly disrespecting the legacy of the revered martyr Bhagat Singh, calling their actions “extremely shameful” and demanding a formal apology from both the Chief Minister and the party. The statement comes amid rising political tensions in Delhi, with debates over historical narratives and the treatment of national heroes taking center stage.

Addressing recent events, Sanjeev said, “The soul of Bhagat Singh Ji must be weeping over the BJP’s dictatorship too. When we were raising questions to the BJP, we were stopped right there on the street.” He expressed concern over what he described as attempts to suppress dissent and silence voices questioning the ruling party’s actions in the city.

The MLA specifically referred to BJP leader Rekha Gupta, alleging that she insulted Bhagat Singh by claiming that he had thrown a bomb in the assembly against the Congress government. “The truth is that the BJP was with the British back then too, and even today, it follows the same principles,” Sanjeev stated, highlighting what he sees as a continuation of policies and ideology contrary to India’s freedom struggle.

Sanjeev emphasized that deliberately distorting the history and misrepresenting the sacrifices of national martyrs is unacceptable. “Martyrs like Bhagat Singh fought for the nation’s freedom and their legacy should never be twisted for political gains. For this insult, the Chief Minister and the BJP will have to apologize to the nation,” he added.

Political analysts suggest that such statements are likely to further intensify the already heated political atmosphere in Delhi. The remarks are expected to spark reactions from opposition leaders and political commentators, particularly because they involve one of India’s most celebrated freedom fighters.

The Delhi Assembly has yet to officially respond to Sanjeev’s remarks, but the controversy is expected to dominate political discussions in the city in the coming days.
