Delhi Metro to launch early at 4 A.m. on August 15 for Independance Day Celebrations

DMRC has announced a special schedule for Independence Day: on Friday, 15 August 2025, the metro services of all lines will start from 4:00 AM onwards for early movement so that citizens and special guests reach on time to the celebrations.

As per DMRC’s advisory, there will be a 30-minute train frequency until 6:00 AM, post which daytime services will operate on the normal timetable. This will help in crowd movement during early hours while taking care of the operational efficiency.

To manage the rush special arrangements will be made, and additional operational focus will ensure smooth-handling of festival-Day Crowds.

Security Measures have been strengthened ahead of the event. The Delhi traffic Police, in coordination with other authorities , has imposed early morning restrictions and partial road-closures in key-zones, especially around red fort to maintain smooth movement.

Those going to the event hosted at Red Fort, can access via- Lal Qila and Chandni Chowk stations which are nearest to the venue. Special invitees are advised to reach early and have ID and invitation credentials because mobility will be affected by increased security protocols.
