The Superfast Vaishali Express from New Delhi to Saharsa via Gorakhpur now includes a stop at Lalitgram following a route extension by railway authorities.

Bihar Train :  Lalitgram (Supaul) will now be the departure point for the Vaishali Express, train numbers 12553/12554, which runs between Saharsa and New Delhi. The Superfast Vaishali Express, which travels via Gorakhpur from New Delhi to Saharsa, now stops in Lalitgram thanks to an extension by the railway authorities.

The Vaishali Express will be renumbered as the Lalitgram-New Delhi-Lalitgram Vaishali Express, with train numbers 15565/15566, as of December 7, according to Pankaj Kumar Singh, Northeast Railway’s chief public relations officer.

The train has been running as the New Delhi-Lalitgram Vaishali Express from October 2. It travels the longer trip from Saharsa, leaving New Delhi at 8:40 PM and arriving in Lalitgram at 10:30 AM the following day, after making stops at specified stations.

Starting on October 3, the 12553 Lalitgram-New Delhi Vaishali Express will leave Lalitgram at 4:00 AM and Saharsa at 6:45 AM. After making stops at specified stations, it will arrive in New Delhi at 6:30 AM the following day. The itinerary for the return trip from New Delhi to Saharsa will remain the same.

The train first traveled via Gorakhpur from New Delhi to Barauni before being extended to Saharsa. It has now been expanded to include Lalitgram.
