Bihar CM Nitish Kumar thanks PM Modi for central support, urges Assembly to show gratitude; opposition voices dissent during session.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar thanked the central government for his backing. He urged the state Assembly members to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi by raising their hands. He made this statement during the vote of gratitude for the Governor’s joint address to both Houses.

All support is being given to the central government: CM

Speaking in-depth, Nitish Kumar, who set a record by becoming the Chief Minister for the fifth time in a row, discussed the efforts undertaken over the past 20 years to advance the state’s general development. He concluded his 20-minute speech by saying, “The central government is fully supporting our state’s development.” The Center provided significant financial support for highways, industry, health, tourism, and flood management in the July 2024 budget.

The establishment of the Makhana Board was then suggested in the February 2025 budget, along with funding for the West Kosi Canal project and airport building. Bihar was also given the chance to host the Khelo India Youth Games this year.

I give the Prime Minister a salute.

For all of these things, I applaud Prime Minister Narendra Modi.I call on each member to raise their hand and comply. He claimed that the Prime Minister had initiated numerous projects and made numerous trips to Bihar.”Now the state is expected to move forward rapidly,” stated Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The economy will be more robust. All areas of work will advance.

You told the opposition what?

He said he did not raise his hands to thank the Prime Minister, pointing to the opposition members before taking his seat. Why don’t you do this? I was with you guys two or three times. But I broke up with you when you started the trouble. I will not be leaving (NDA) at this time. The House erupted with excitement upon hearing this.

In the past 10 years, Nitish Kumar, a BJP ally since the 1990s, has established the government twice with the RJD-Congress alliance, but both times it was short-lived. He later appealed to the Legislative Council members in the same way. One of the Legislative Council’s members is Kumar.

What was the response of the opposition?

However, the opposition, led by former Chief Minister Rabri Devi, expressed dissatisfaction with the Chairman’s refusal to give him a chance to address the motion of thanks. The opposition claims that he was halted when he said that only his suggested revisions would be considered his proposals.

After around two hours of debate in the Assembly, Samrat Chaudhary, the Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister, eventually gave the government’s response. “Former BJP state president Chaudhary rejected the opposition’s allegation that he wanted to establish a” “bullodor raj” “in Bihar on the lines of the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.”

Here, bulldozers are not a problem: Chaudhary Samrat

“” “Bihar is known for good governance, which Nitish Kumar has become synonymous.” Here, bulldozers are not a problem. I am Samrat Chaudhary, and I am aware that I am not a bulldozer symbol. Indeed, illegal possessions are being dealt with in accordance with the court’s orders. Mafia rules will remain rigid.
