Chirag Paswan Pledges NDA MLAs’ Support for Nitish Kumar

by Desk

Chirag Paswan backs Nitish Kumar as NDA’s CM candidate, criticizes Mahagathbandhan, and pledges LJP support in Bihar assembly elections 2025.

Chirag Paswan, the leader of the LJP (Ram Vilas), officially supported the appointment of Nitish Kumar as the NDA’s chief ministerial face in Bihar, just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the announcement. He stated that he fully supported Kumar’s leadership. Paswan declared that the NDA is “much stronger and more united this time” and that his MLAs would vote to install Nitish Kumar as chief minister.

He pointed out that the NDA was able to establish a government in 2020 even though they ran independently. Since Upendra Kushwaha wasn’t with us at the time, we were at our lowest. While the Mahagathbandhan seems divided, we are unified this time,” he stated.

According to Paswan, his party is certain of winning all 29 of the seats it is running for in the next assembly elections. “I had complete confidence in our preparations when I made the candidate list public. We valued the seats that the BJP sacrificed for,” he remarked.

Additionally, he defended Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s comment that “MLAs will choose their leader,” emphasizing that such claims are unnecessary in areas where the BJP has complete control. Paswan reiterated, “Our MLAs will support Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister.”

Paswan responded, “That is part of my values,” after seeing him touch Nitish Kumar’s feet. He is older and more experienced than I am, and there is no denying his impact on Bihar’s development.

Muslims In Mahagathbandhan  Ignore

“The so-called friendly struggle that Mahagathbandhan talks about is impossible,” he continued, dismissing discussions of a “friendly contest” inside the Opposition coalition.

Paswan made fun of Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the RJD, saying, “Didn’t it seem obvious how much internal strife existed prior to Tejashwi being named the CM face? Only after great pressure was it completed.

He questioned why the Opposition alliance did not include any Muslim members. Why is it impossible for a Yadav or Muslim leader who is not related to Tejashwi to become chief minister? Muslim votes have always been abused by the Mahagathbandhan,” he claimed.

Paswan went on to say that his party will advocate for more Muslim members in the NDA.

Misleading Muslims About The WAQF Bill Tejashwi

Regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill dispute, Paswan charged Tejashwi Yadav with disseminating false information. Parliament, not the state assembly, passed the bill. What difference will it make if you tear it up? “It’s law already,” he declared.

He went on to say that state lawmakers cannot make any changes; only Parliament can. Paswan asserted, “Tejashwi is deceiving Muslims for political advantage.”

Taking the Legacy Hurts of Karpur

Paswan criticized the Opposition for referring to its leaders as “Jananayak.” The attempt by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi to usurp Karpuri Thakur’s “Jananayak” title is hurtful. He said, “Anyone who has followed his ideological path would feel the same.”

By 2030, I want to be a CM.

“I definitely see myself as Chief Minister in 2030,” Paswan responded when asked about his personal political goals. The motto “Bihar First, Bihari First” has always been my vision.

He dismissed inquiries about his personal life and marriage, claiming that they are “no relevant during elections.” Paswan added that following the assembly elections, he intended to move to his home in Sunheri Bagh.
