Bihar Education Dept offers wage protection and ₹4,000-5,000 raise from Oct 2025 for teachers passing competency exams.

Bihar Education  : Teachers in Bihar would benefit from wage protection if they pass the competency exam. Special instructors will be eligible for this benefit as soon as they are hired, under an order from the Education Department. The October 2025 pay scale will be given together with a salary raise.

According to the Bihar Education Department, local body teachers who passed the Competency Test would now be eligible for salary protection as of the day they start working there.

According to the directive, which was announced , the October 2025 pay scale will result in a monthly salary increase of Rs 4,000 to Rs 5,000 for around three lakh special instructors throughout the state.

In addition to their October wage, instructors who have previously been designated as special teachers will get arrears of the updated compensation. To promote local body teachers to special teachers, the government administered competency tests, and around three lakh applicants passed the first and second rounds.

The same incentive will be available to teachers who pass the next third, fourth, and fifth exams. Additionally, the agency has granted 28,750 recently hired head teachers in government primary schools the benefit of wage protection.

Pay protection will be granted to all of these head teachers, who were formerly employed as special or local body teachers, as of the date of their hire.
