Vaibhav Suryavanshi scores 127 off 74 balls in the 3rd Youth ODI vs South Africa, helping India Under-19 extend series lead.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, 14, extended his spectacular run of form by making a century in the (now ongoing) third One-Day International against South Africa, extending India Under-19’s lead in the series.

Suryavanshi, who captained the team, hit three figures in just 63 balls, cementing his status as one of India’s most promising young batsmen.

The Youth One-Day International series between India Under-19 and South Africa Under-19 began on January 3, with the Indian team winning the first two matches under Suryavanshi’s captaincy. The third match only added to India’s domination, as the youthful captain led from the front with the bat.

Rapid Hundred Showcases Outstanding Form.

Suryavanshi began his innings aggressively, reaching his half-century in just 24 balls. He then took 39 more deliveries to get his hundred, putting pressure on the South African bowling attack throughout.

His knock was typified by clean striking and gutsy intent, displaying the confidence of a player in peak form.

This century was Suryavanshi’s second in his List A career, which had lasted nine matches. His consistency at such a young age has elevated him to the top of the Under-19 standings.

Suryavanshi and Aaron George established a powerful 227-run opening stand in India’s third Youth ODI, providing a good foundation for the innings. The duo effectively shifted the game away from South Africa early on, allowing India to dominate terms.

Suryavanshi was eventually removed for 127 runs off 74 deliveries. As reported, his innings featured a flurry of boundaries and sixes, emphasizing his attacking style and ability to clear the ropes with ease.

Consistent Performance Across Formats

The youth captain’s performance is not restricted to the Youth ODI series. He had already excelled in the second one-day international against South Africa with a powerful half-century. Suryavanshi has made an impact in domestic cricket in addition to the Under-19 team.

He played two Vijay Hazare Trophy matches for Bihar, scoring 190 runs off 84 balls against Arunachal Pradesh. Prior to it, he scored a quick century in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Suryavanshi has 480 runs in his nine List A matches.

His first List A century came against Pakistan in the Under-19 Asia Cup, when he bowled an incredible innings of 171 runs. With efforts like this, Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s bat continues to speak volumes as India Under-19 enjoy a resounding victory over South Africa.
