New case under POCSO Act filed in Jaipur adds to earlier Ghaziabad FIR against Yash Dayal for exploitation under false pretenses.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru star bowler, Yash Dayal has been booked in second rape case this time under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season in Jaipur
According to police reports, the minor girl claims she met Yash Dayal during an IPL match in Jaipur and was brought to hotel in Sitapura, in the pretext of career mentorship, where the first assault allegedly occurred. The abuse reportedly spanned two years and involved emotional manipulation and promises of cricketing support.
The fresh FIR follows an earlier complaint filed in Ghaziabad case, the Allahabad high court granted him interim protection from the arrest, acknowledging the complexity of the allegations, as the relationship reportedly lasted five years. Simultaneously, Dayal filed a counter complaint against her, alleging the women had extracted a large amount of money from him and even stole his smartphone and Laptop.
With two criminal cases now filed—one grave enough to warrant application of POCSO—the legal stakes for the 27-year-old cricketer are substantial. These things raise serious questions about his future in competitive cricket and may bring scrutiny from the IPL and BCCI on his participation in games.
