Renowned hockey olympian Anjum Saeed, who managed the senior Pakistani squad during their trip to the FIH Pro League in Argentina, got into difficulty after being kicked from the plane in Brazil for smoking on it during the refueling process at the Rio de Janeiro airport.

Anjum was discovered smoking when the aircraft paused in Brazil for refueling, and he and another Pakistani player were denied entry to Dubai.

After returning home this week, Anjum, a defender and midfielder who participated in the 1992 Olympic semifinal and was part of the team that won the World Cup and Champions Trophy in 1994, is now saying that he was not able to return with the team due to personnel work in Dubai.

However, a representative of the Pakistan Sports Board stated that because the occurrence is detrimental to Pakistani sports, they have requested that the Pakistan Hockey Federation conduct an impartial investigation into the matter.

In their very first FIH Pro League appearance, Pakistan did not perform well.
