Paddy lifting in Kotkapura started after active intervention of Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan
Chandigarh/Kotkapura, October 20:
Amid the ongoing strike by the Rice Millers Association of Punjab, farmers, laborers, and arhtiyas, a ray of hope emerged in Kotkapura as the Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Kultar Singh Sandhwan made personal efforts to address the situation.
S. Sandhwan personally assured the rice millers of his constituency that he is committed to fighting for their demands and will work towards delivering positive outcomes at the earliest. The rice millers in Kotkapura, having had a positive past experience with their MLA and Speaker, expressed relief. Sukhwinder Singh Dhaliwal, President of the Rice Millers Association Kotkapura, highlighted that Sh. Sandhwan had stood with them during difficult times last year, helping resolve issues related to rice storage and other trade-related matters.
As a result of the Speaker’s efforts and dedication, 41 out of 64 mills have now opted to sign agreements with the department. Over the last four days, a substantial quantity of paddy has been procured from the Kotkapura grain market, and the pace of lifting has been commendable.
The Rice Millers Association of Kotkapura appreciates the Speaker’s proactive approach and remains hopeful for a swift resolution to the ongoing concerns.
