Joint Effort by Municipal Corporation Greater to Remove Unauthorized Aerial Cables Ahead of Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024

Jaipur, 13 November 2024, 09:17 PM – In preparation for the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024, the Municipal Corporation Greater has launched a citywide operation to enhance the cleanliness and aesthetics of Jaipur. On the directive of Municipal Corporation Greater Commissioner, Rukmani Riyad, multiple teams commenced a focused campaign on Wednesday to dismantle unauthorized aerial cables and self-constructed poles installed in violation of municipal regulations.

The removal initiative, led by the Municipal Corporation Greater, began at 10 AM in the Malviya Nagar, Jagatpura, and Sanganer Zones. The campaign brought together various departments, including the Deputy Commissioner Revenue I, Hoarding Branch, Lines, Garage Branch, Electricity Branch, and Vigilance Branch. The operation aims to ensure a visually appealing cityscape for both residents and visitors, aligning with Jaipur’s role as a host city for the high-profile investment summit. According to officials, this clean-up drive will continue through Thursday.

As part of this initiative, the teams removed all unauthorized aerial cables from key city routes. These include the stretch from Bharat Setu Flyover to Sahakar Marg, Sahakar Marg to Tonk Road, Kendriya Vidyalaya-1 via Abhimanyu Marg, JLN Marg to Jawahar Circle, Jawahar Circle to Terminal-1, Terminal-2 to Sanganer Flyover, and other main thoroughfares. The extensive coverage highlights the Corporation’s commitment to keeping Jaipur clean and uncluttered, especially ahead of significant events like the investment summit.

Commissioner Rukmani Riyad pointed out that while the Corporation regularly removes illegal aerial cables, unauthorized installations by telecom and digital cable providers reappear shortly after removal. To combat this persistent issue, the Vigilance Team’s Home Guards will now conduct regular patrols of these areas to prevent any further unauthorized cable installations on Corporation-managed electricity poles. The patrolling effort will help maintain the city’s compliance with municipal standards and deter service providers from violating infrastructure regulations.

Additionally, the Corporation has signaled its intention to take strict legal action against any telecom or cable service provider found installing unauthorized cables. Commissioner Riyad emphasized that the Corporation is committed to upholding the city’s aesthetic and regulatory standards, particularly with the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit on the horizon. The crackdown on unauthorized cables is expected to discourage violations and maintain Jaipur’s image as a clean, well-managed urban hub.

Through these collective efforts, Municipal Corporation Greater aims to present Jaipur as a model city for cleanliness and organization, aligning with the goals of the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024.
