As the bypolls for nine assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh approach, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ramped up preparations, calling on BJP leaders to intensify their efforts. In a high-level meeting held in Lucknow on Saturday, the Chief Minister laid out a strategic roadmap to ensure a decisive victory for the party, emphasizing the importance of strong teamwork and accountability among ministers and party officials.
During the meeting, Adityanath urged the BJP leaders to fully commit to their responsibilities, leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of electoral success. “Winning these byelections will not just be a political victory but will also signify the public’s trust in our governance,” the CM stated, underscoring the importance of these contests in solidifying the party’s standing in Uttar Pradesh. He called for an unwavering dedication to the campaign, ensuring that every leader and worker remains actively engaged.
The focus of the meeting was on forming targeted, effective strategies to secure wins in all nine assembly seats. Chief Minister Adityanath assigned specific responsibilities to the district in-charges and senior office-bearers, underscoring the need for a cohesive campaign that reaches every corner of the contested constituencies. He highlighted that ministers and local leaders must work in close coordination to ensure seamless execution of election plans at the grassroots level, including down to the booth-level.
Among the attendees were prominent figures from the Uttar Pradesh BJP, including Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, Cabinet Ministers Swatantra Dev Singh and Surya Pratap Shahi, along with several senior ministers and BJP office-bearers. Together, they discussed the political landscape of the upcoming byelections and formulated strategies to overcome any challenges.
Adityanath directed party workers to focus on intensive election management, ensuring that every vote is accounted for. He emphasized that each seat is critical and that no effort should be spared in mobilizing support. Additionally, he urged ministers and leaders to stay visible and engaged in their respective constituencies by conducting regular community meetings, known locally as “chaupals,” to establish direct communication with residents. This direct engagement, he noted, is essential to not only understanding local concerns but also providing swift solutions, thereby building trust with voters.
The Chief Minister also urged ministers to dedicate more time to the districts where the byelections will take place. He emphasized the importance of personally interacting with local residents, listening to their grievances, and ensuring their issues are addressed promptly. This personalized approach, he believes, will foster stronger connections with the electorate, increasing the party’s chances of success.
UP BJP Chief Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary also reviewed the party’s preparation during the meeting. He assured the leaders that the party is fully prepared to contest all nine seats with confidence. Chaudhary expressed optimism, stating that under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath, the BJP would secure a strong and emphatic victory in the upcoming byelections.
The Election Commission recently announced that the bypolls for nine of the ten vacant assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will be held on November 13. These seats include Katehari, Karhal, Meerapur, Kundarki, Phulpur, Sisamau, Ghaziabad, Majhawan, and Khair. The Milkipur seat has been left out due to an ongoing election petition in the high court regarding the candidate who previously won the seat.
Of the nine seats going to polls, eight became vacant when their MLAs were elected to the Lok Sabha. The bypoll in Sisamau was triggered by the disqualification of Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki, following his conviction in a criminal case. In the 2022 assembly elections, the Samajwadi Party (SP) had secured victories in Katehari, Karhal, Sisamau, Milkipur, and Kundarki. The BJP had won Phulpur, Ghaziabad, and Khair, while the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) held Meerapur. Majhawan was held by the NISHAD party.
As the BJP gears up for these crucial bypolls, the emphasis on teamwork, grassroots engagement, and strategic planning remains central to the party’s campaign. CM Yogi Adityanath’s call for unity and stronger collaboration among leaders signals the high stakes involved, with the BJP determined to retain its dominance in Uttar Pradesh’s political landscape.
With focused leadership and a robust campaign strategy, the BJP aims to secure victories in all nine seats, reinforcing its position as the leading political force in the state.
