After bathing, she created a Shivling from sand, known as a parthiv Shivling, and performed a detailed puja using simple offerings made of sand. She then consumed a portion of the offering as prasad and completed the ritual with full devotion.

Pleased by her dedication, Lord Shiva manifested from the Shivling and granted her a boon. He declared that any woman who observes this vrat with devotion would be blessed with a long and happy married life, and ultimately attain spiritual liberation.
The Divine Illusion
As the Gangaur vrat katha continues, Goddess Parvati returned late after completing her rituals. When questioned by Lord Shiva, she explained that she had met her family near the river and stayed back for hospitality. Curious, Shiva decided to visit the place himself.
On reaching the riverbank, a magnificent palace appeared, filled with Parvati’s family members who warmly welcomed them. Lord Shiva stayed there for two days. However, when Sage Narad later returned to retrieve a forgotten garland, he found no palace—only a dense forest.
Confused, Narad reported this to Shiva, who revealed that it was all Goddess Parvati’s divine illusion, created to protect the sanctity and privacy of her vrat.
