In a deeply disturbing incident from Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district, a 24-year-old woman, identified as Srividya, died by suicide after allegedly facing repeated physical and emotional abuse from her husband. A college lecturer by profession, Srividya was married to a village surveyor named Rambabu just six months ago. What started as a hopeful beginning turned into a nightmare, as her final note revealed shocking details of the abuse she faced.

In the handwritten suicide note addressed to her younger brother, Srividya poured out her pain. She mentioned that her husband would return home drunk and physically assault her. She wrote that he slammed her head against the bed, punched her in the back, and repeatedly humiliated her by calling her “useless” in front of another woman. The note also highlighted that despite being newly married, her life had become unbearable and filled with constant fear and humiliation and full of pain.

The most heart-wrenching part of her note was a line directed at her brother, in which she wrote,

“Hey brother, take care—I may not be able to tie rakhi for you this time.”

Her words reflected not just her sorrow, but a deep sense of regret and helplessness. She expressed guilt for leaving her loved ones behind but firmly blamed her husband and in-laws for pushing her to this tragic decision.

Srividya also wrote that those responsible should not be spared under any circumstances, making it clear that her decision was not impulsive but the result of prolonged suffering. Her family has been left shattered, and the local community is in shock at the turn of events.

Police have registered a case for aellegedly driving her to suicide and cruelty by a spouse. Investigations are underway, with authorities recording statements from family members and examining the contents of her note. The incident has once again brought focus to the rising cases of domestic abuse, especially among young couples, and the urgent need for support systems to prevent such tragedies.

This heart-wrenching case serves as a reminder that behind the closed doors of many homes, there are silent battles being fought—battles that, if ignored, can end in irreversible loss.
