TCS Nashik Case Update: Witness Alleges Targeted Conversion Plot in Harassment Scandal by Muslim Colleagues

New Testimony Claims Accused Were Incentivized to Marry Hindu Colleagues; SIT Probes Funding Links and Management Failure

by P D

NASHIK — The TCS Nashik case update took a darker turn this week as new witness testimonies emerged. A contractual employee at the facility alleged a coordinated effort by the accused to target Hindu women. These allegations surfaced following the arrest of seven employees, including a high-ranking Human Resources manager. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) is now examining claims that the accused were encouraged to marry and convert their colleagues.

According to the witness, the group specifically pressured male staff to pursue relationships with Hindu women for the purpose of religious conversion. Furthermore, the testimony suggests that these actions were not isolated incidents. The witness claimed that the group received external funding to carry out these activities since 2021. Even the HR manager, identified as Nida Khan, allegedly received financial incentives to facilitate this environment.

SIT Probes Systemic Abuse and “Lady Captain” Role

The Nashik police formed an SIT last week to investigate nine separate complaints. Eight women employees have detailed a pattern of mental and sexual harassment that persisted for years. These events reportedly occurred between February 2022 and March 2026. The victims alleged that senior colleagues used their authority to demand physical favors under false promises of marriage.

A central figure in the probe is HR manager Nida Khan, whom victims have dubbed the “Lady Captain.” The investigation suggests she played a tactical role in the conversion efforts. She allegedly befriended female employees to make them feel comfortable. Gradually, she reportedly pressured them to wear the hijab and perform religious rituals. When the victims attempted to resist or report the abuse, Khan allegedly threatened them with immediate termination.

Zero-Tolerance Policy: Tata Sons Chairman Responds

The fallout from the TCS Nashik case update has reached the highest levels of corporate leadership. Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran described the allegations as “gravely concerning and anguishing.” He confirmed that Chief Operating Officer Arathi Subramanian is leading a thorough internal investigation. This probe aims to identify every individual responsible for the toxic culture at the Nashik branch.

TCS issued a formal statement on Sunday reiterating its zero-tolerance policy toward harassment. The IT giant confirmed the suspension of all arrested staffers, including Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, and Asif Aftab Ansari. Additionally, the company is providing full access to its digital records and CCTV footage to the SIT. This cooperation is vital as the police look for evidence of abetment by senior officials who allegedly ignored verbal complaints.

Wider Implications for Workplace Safety in 2026

This case has moved beyond local crime and is now a significant national discussion on workplace safety. The police revealed that the harassment included obscene remarks about physical appearance and marital lives. In one instance, a male employee was allegedly forced to perform religious rituals against his will. Such claims of religious coercion in a corporate setting are unprecedented in the Indian IT sector.

The SIT is currently searching for another female employee who is reportedly on the run. Meanwhile, the parents of the accused have claimed their children are being framed. However, the sheer volume of testimonies and the documented failure of the local management to take action have built a strong case for the prosecution. As the investigation continues, many are calling for a complete overhaul of grievance mechanisms in large-scale technical hubs.
