Suspected drones from Pakistan spotted over IB and LoC in J&K’s Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch. Security forces conduct searches and recover weapons.

On Sunday evening, security forces detected suspected drone movement along the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba, Rajouri, and Poonch districts, according to officials.

The flying objects originated in Pakistan and returned after briefly hovering over Indian territory, they claimed.

According to the report, security officers conducted a ground search operation following this.

Here’s a breakdown of the sequence of events.
  • According to reports, army forces in the Nowshera sector along the LoC in Rajouri fired machine guns after detecting drone movement above Gania-Kalsian hamlet at around 6.35 p.m.
  • Another drone was reportedly spotted at 6.35 p.m. in Khabbar village, Teryath, Rajouri district. According to officials, this flying object with blinking lights flew from Dharmsal hamlet in Kalakote and then continued on to Bharakh.
  • Another drone-like device with a blinking light was spotted flying for several minutes over Chak Babral village in Samba’s Ramgarh area at 7.15 p.m., according to reports.
  • At 6.25 p.m., another drone-like object was seen moving from Tain to Topa in the Mankote sector of Poonch district, which is located near the LoC.

On Friday night, security officials discovered a weaponry consignment in Paloora hamlet of Ghagwal near the international border in Samba district, which had allegedly been dropped by a drone from Pakistan. Officials said they recovered two firearms, three magazines, 16 bullets, and a grenade.
