The Supreme Court has sought a status report from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating allegations related to the alleged theft of devotees’ donations at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. A bench headed by Chief Justice of India has asked the SIT to provide details of the ongoing investigation before further hearing the matter.

The court has also issued a notice to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust regarding the allegations. The next hearing in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation case is scheduled for July 20.

SIT Investigation Report to Be Examined Before Further Action

During the hearing, the Supreme Court observed that it would be appropriate to examine the SIT’s status report before considering the petitions filed in the matter. The court also sought information regarding the members of the investigating team.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta represented the Uttar Pradesh and central governments during the hearing and assured the court that he would assist in the proceedings.

Four Petitions Seek Independent Investigation

The Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation case came before the Supreme Court through four separate petitions filed by lawyer Narendra Kumar Goswami, lawyer Ajay Kumar Rai, RJD MP Sudhakar Singh, and Hindu Dharma Parishad.

The petitioners have sought that the investigation be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and have demanded the formation of an independent SIT to examine the allegations.

Plea Seeks Transparency in Temple Donation Management

The petitions have also requested the formation of an expert committee to review issues related to the management of donations received by the temple. The petitioners have sought an independent forensic audit of the trust and demanded that details of donations received by the temple be made publicly available through the official website.

In the Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation case, petitioners have argued that the matter involves the faith of millions of devotees and requires transparent management of offerings made to the temple.

Supreme Court Asked to Ensure Trust Transparency

The petitioners have urged the Supreme Court to ensure a reliable and transparent system for managing temple donations. One of the pleas has sought recognition of all offerings made by devotees as the sacred property of the trust.

The Supreme Court’s decision to seek the SIT report marks an important development in the Ayodhya Ram Mandir donation case, with further proceedings expected after reviewing the investigation details.
