Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, is likely to visit Bhutan on November 11 and 12.
The Prime Minister is going to the Himalayan country at the same time as Jigme Singye Wangchuck’s 70th birthday. He was the fourth King of Bhutan and the father of the present King, Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.
He might also see the start of infrastructure projects and take part in cultural events during the visit.
According to the Bhutanese news site Kuensel, PM Modi would be the guest of honor at the celebrations for the king’s 70th birthday. He is also expected to open the Punatsangchhu-II Hydropower Project.
Bhutan’s Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay talked about how India and Bhutan’s relationship is changing earlier on Monday. He stated, “There’s a lot of cooperation already happening.” He said, “This is based on the cooperation we’ve had for thousands of years. Many spiritual masters from India traveled to Bhutan or other parts of the Himalayas and ended up in Bhutan. If they didn’t come here in person, their teachings eventually found a home in Bhutan.”
He suggested that with PM Modi’s help, the city of Gelephu in Bhutan might become a hub for Vajrayana practice.

“From now on, we can do a lot with Prime Minister Modi, the Government of India, and the people of India to turn Gelephu into a Vajrayana city, a place where people can practice Vajrayana. By doing this, many of India’s Vajrayana schools and denominations will find a home in Bhutan. There will be a lot of new monasteries, temples, and schools of Vajrayana stupas. He went on to say, “We have a lot of conferences, especially the International Vajrayana Conference.”
He also said that the top leaders of both nations have a lot of affection for each other and that Bhutan has gained a lot from the collaboration.
“The top leaders in India are Prime Minister Modi and in Bhutan, our adored kings, our fourth king, and our current king. They have a lot of good will and friendship with the leaders of India, especially Prime Minister Modi. He stated, “In the past, our cooperation was based on development partnership and development cooperation, and we have gained a lot from this partnership with India.”
