PM Modi urged everyone to join the group’s endeavor to realize India’s ambition of being a developed and independent nation.

Delhi:  PM Modi wished the country “new strength and faith” during the nine-day celebration of Navratri. The prime minister stated on the first day of the celebrations that this year’s Navratri is particularly significant because it falls during the “GST-saving festival,” which he claimed will also give the swadeshi slogan new life.

As people celebrate the fortunate time devoted to Goddess Durga and her nine forms, he also wished them luck, prosperity, and good health.

In an X post, Prime Minister Modi wrote, “Happy Navratri to all of you. May everyone have a newfound sense of strength and faith as a result of this holy event, which is full of devotion, bravery, self-control, and resolve. “Jai Mata Di!”

PM Modi declared that the first day is devoted to “Maa Shailputri,” since every day is devoted to a new manifestation of the goddess, representing different facets of courage, kindness, and knowledge. Today is Maa Shailputri’s special day of adoration. “I pray that everyone’s life is full of good fortune and good health with the love and blessings of the Goddess,” he stated.

“The auspicious festival of Navratri is particularly noteworthy this year. Swadeshi will be given fresh life during this time, along with the GST Savings Festival. “Let us all unite and commit our combined efforts to realizing the vision of a developed and independent India,” he continued.

This morning, the first day of Navratri, lower GST rates on about 375 products went into effect, lowering the cost of a variety of goods and services for consumers, ranging from medications and kitchen essentials to electronics, equipment, and cars.

Along with sharing Pandit Jasraj’s “Bhajan” (a devotional song), the prime minister invited everyone to contribute a song of their own. “Navratri is about unadulterated devotion. Across India, people celebrate Navratri, one of the most sacred Hindu holidays, with pleasure, color, and devotion. Goddess Durga and her nine celestial forms, sometimes referred to as Navdurga, are the focus of the nine-day celebration. In addition to performing puja and observing fasts, devotees take part in cultural celebrations such as Durga Puja pandals, garba, and dandiya evenings.

A distinct embodiment of the goddess, representing different facets of wisdom, compassion, and strength, is honored every day. To create a happy atmosphere, devotees fast, chant devotional songs, and perform traditional dances like Garba and Dandiya.

This year, the devotion of Maa Shailputri, the original form of Navdurga, and the holy rite of Ghatasthapana mark the start of Shardiya Navratri on Monday. Throughout India, devotees are praying for the blessings of strength and purity, observing vrat, and setting up the kalash during the shubh muhurat. Vijayadashami (Dussehra) will mark the festival’s conclusion on October 2, 2025.
