Bhopal: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that the National Testing Agency (NTA) will provide an additional 15 minutes to candidates appearing for the NEET Re-Examination scheduled for June 21. The move is aimed at ensuring a smooth experience for students amid heightened scrutiny surrounding the medical entrance test.

Speaking to reporters after arriving in Bhopal, Pradhan appealed to students to remain confident and focus on their preparation. He said the NEET Re-Examination would be conducted in a highly organised manner and assured candidates that all necessary arrangements were being put in place to maintain fairness and transparency.

Additional Time for Candidates in NEET Re-Examination

Pradhan stated that the NTA has decided to grant an extra 15 minutes to students appearing in the NEET Re-Examination. He urged candidates not to be distracted by ongoing controversies and instead concentrate on their studies.

“The examination will be conducted in a very organised manner. Students should have faith and continue their preparation with confidence,” he said.

Government Reviews Preparations

Meanwhile, T. V. Somanathan reviewed the preparedness for the NEET Re-Examination in a high-level meeting with officials, including the Director General of the NTA. The review focused on ensuring a secure, transparent and smooth conduct of the examination through close coordination among central and state authorities.

The Cabinet Secretary emphasized that the Central Government, State Governments and district administrations are working together to ensure the integrity of the examination process. He also warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt or compromise the examination.

Security and Transparency in Focus

Officials have been conducting regular review meetings to assess preparedness and strengthen coordination among all stakeholders. The government has reiterated its commitment to maintaining the credibility of the NEET Re-Examination and ensuring that students can take the test in a fair environment.

The re-examination was scheduled after allegations of paper leaks and administrative irregularities triggered nationwide concerns. The investigation is currently being handled by the Central Bureau of Investigation, which has reportedly made multiple arrests as part of its probe.

With the NEET Re-Examination now set for June 21, lakhs of medical aspirants across the country are preparing for the crucial test. Authorities have assured candidates that extensive measures have been taken to safeguard the examination process and prevent any recurrence of previous issues.
