PM Modi inaugurates Navi Mumbai International Airport Phase 1 and Mumbai Metro Line-3 final phase during his Maharashtra visit, with more projects planned.

Phase one of the Navi Mumbai International Airport and the last section of Mumbai Metro Line-3 were officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday in India’s financial hub. PM Modi is scheduled to launch several projects in Maharashtra during his two-day tour, which started today. The recently constructed Navi Mumbai International Airport was inspected by PM Modi. Along with starting and dedicating a number of initiatives in Mumbai, he also opened the airport. PM Modi is expected to speak at a public event on the topic.

The projects’ main highlights are listed below.

– Additionally, PM Modi unveiled Mumbai One, the first integrated common mobility software for 11 public transportation providers in India.

– The first phase of the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) cost Rs 19,650 crore to construct. The largest greenfield airport project in India was created under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concept.

– Together with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), NMIA will serve as the second international airport in the Mumbai Metropolitan Area, reducing traffic and bringing Mumbai up to the level of other international multi-airport systems.

– PM Modi also officially opened Phase 2B of the Mumbai Metro Line-3, which was built at a cost of Rs 12,200 crore and runs from Acharya Atre Chowk to Cuffe Parade.

– He dedicated the entire Rs 37,270 crore Mumbai Metro Line 3 (Aqua Line) to the country, which was a significant step in the reform of urban transportation in the metropolis.

– The Mumbai One app, which provides commuters with a number of advantages, including integrated mobile ticketing across several public transportation providers, will also be introduced by PM Modi.

– He will also launch the Department of Skill, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation’s Short-Term Employability Program (STEP) in Maharashtra.

– The initiative will be implemented in 150 Government Technical High Schools and 400 Government ITIs, representing a significant step in matching industry demands with skill development to improve employability.
