A tragic Mirzapur road accident in Uttar Pradesh has claimed the lives of 11 people, prompting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce financial assistance for the victims’ families. The accident, which occurred on Wednesday night, has left the region in shock due to its devastating impact.
According to officials, the Mirzapur road accident involved a truck, a car, and a Bolero, which caught fire following a severe collision. The Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that financial aid would be provided from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) to support those affected by the tragedy.
Expressing his grief, Narendra Modi said he was deeply anguished by the loss of lives in the Mirzapur road accident. He extended his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. An ex gratia of ₹2 lakh will be given to the next of kin of each deceased, while the injured will receive ₹50,000.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also expressed sorrow over the Mirzapur road accident and announced a compensation of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased. He directed officials to ensure proper medical treatment for those injured in the incident.
Mirzapur Road Accident: Brake Failure in Chickpea-Laden Truck Triggers Deadly Fire Collision at Dramandganj
The fatal Mirzapur road accident occurred around 8:30 PM in the Dramandganj police station area. According to the police, a truck carrying chickpeas suffered a brake failure, causing it to go out of control. It first rammed into a Bolero and then collided with a Swift Dzire car, triggering a massive fire.
Superintendent of Police Aparna Rajat Kaushik stated that the impact of the Mirzapur road accident was so intense that the Swift Dzire burst into flames. The vehicles were quickly engulfed, making rescue operations extremely difficult.

Eyewitness accounts revealed the horrifying nature of the Mirzapur road accident, with one local stating that an entire family returning from a ‘mundan’ ceremony lost their lives in the tragedy. The fire spread rapidly, leaving little chance for escape.
Following the incident, District Magistrate Pawan Kumar Gangwar and senior police officials rushed to the spot along with a heavy police force. Fire brigade teams, assisted by local residents, carried out rescue operations, although the intensity of the flames posed major challenges.
The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at a district hospital. Authorities have assured that all necessary assistance is being provided to those affected by the Mirzapur road accident.
