Engineer turns Pond Savior: Revives 80 wetlands across India
To tackle the vanishing Water bodies and falling ground water levels engineer-turned-environmentalist, Ramveer Tanwar quit his corporate Job and began restoring ponds
Known a Pond man of India, he has revived over 80 ponds across six states, including UP and Delhi-NCR
Raised in Dadha village, Ramveer saw ponds turn into garbage sites. In 2016 he started cleaning them with local help, later launching his NGO “Say Earth”
His unique “Jal Chaupal” model brings villagers together to clean, maintain and protect ponds
His efforts have boosted biodiversity, improved ground water and inspired hundreds to take up local conservation. Today he is a Swachh Bharat mission ambassador, and his work have been praised im PM Modi Mann ki Baat.
