PM Modi expressed condolences for the 8 killed in the Red Fort metro blast. Delhi on high alert as NIA, NSG, and local police investigate the explosion.

Delhi:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his condolences to the families of those killed in an explosion near the Red Fort metro station, which left at least eight people dead and numerous others injured. After discussing the matter with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Modi wished the injured people a quick recovery.

“Sincere condolences to the families of those killed in the Delhi explosion earlier tonight. As soon as possible, may the injured get better. Authorities are coming to the aid of those impacted. discussed the matter with Amit Shah Ji, the home minister, and other officials,” Modi wrote in a post on X.

According to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, every investigative agency is looking into every possibility and would carry out a comprehensive probe into the occurrence.

Following the explosion, three e-rickshaws, four motorcycles, and six cars took fire, according to sources. A call regarding an explosion and burning automobiles was received at approximately 6:55 p.m., according to a statement from the Delhi Fire Service. Seven fire tenders were deployed to the area and the fire was quenched by 7.36 pm, the statement stated.

Local officers and a team from the Delhi officers Special Cell have begun a preliminary investigation into the occurrence. Additionally involved are the National Security Guard (NSG) and the National Investigation Agency (NIA). Delhi has been placed under a high alert.
