Centre strengthens Amarnath Yatra security arrangements with advanced surveillance and coordination

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has directed the creation of a strong, multi-layered security framework for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra security arrangements, emphasizing the use of advanced surveillance technologies and coordinated deployment of security forces. The review meeting focused on ensuring a peaceful and safe pilgrimage for devotees undertaking the annual Yatra.

The security arrangements of  Amarnath Yatra  were discussed in detail during a high-level meeting attended by top officials, including NSA Ajit Doval, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Army Chief Gen Upendra Dwivedi, and senior officers from central security agencies.

Advanced Surveillance Under Amarnath Yatra Security Arrangements

Amit Shah instructed security agencies to strengthen the security arrangements of  Amarnath Yatra  through the use of drones, CCTV monitoring, and modern surveillance systems. He stressed that traditional security mechanisms must be reinforced with technology to create an “impregnable security grid.”

Officials noted that the Amarnath Yatra security arrangements will include continuous monitoring of pilgrimage routes and tourist locations to prevent any security lapses during the 57-day journey.

Coordination Between Forces for Amarnath Yatra Security Arrangements

The security arrangements of Amarnath Yatra  involve coordinated efforts between Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Jammu and Kashmir Police, and other security agencies. The Home Minister emphasized seamless collaboration to ensure smooth operations across both pilgrimage routes—the Nunwan-Pahalgam route and the Baltal route.

Senior officers will be deployed to continuously supervise camp sites and ensure that the Amarnath Yatra security arrangements remain effective throughout the pilgrimage period.

Focus on Pilgrim Safety and Facilities

Apart from security, the Amarnath Yatra security also include robust systems for pilgrim registration, healthcare services, accommodation, and disaster management. Amit Shah directed that QR-coded identity cards be issued to pilgrims and that all participants, including associated personnel, be properly registered.

Authorities also emphasized weather-based movement planning to ensure safe travel under the Amarnath Yatra security arrangements.

Security Beyond Pilgrimage Routes

The Home Minister also directed that major tourist destinations outside the main pilgrimage routes be secured under the Amarnath Yatra security arrangements to ensure safe movement and travel experience for pilgrims.

The Centre’s comprehensive strategy for the security arrangements of Amarnath Yatra reflects a strong focus on safety, technology-driven monitoring, and inter-agency coordination. With enhanced surveillance and structured planning, the government aims to ensure a peaceful and secure pilgrimage experience for all devotees.
