Air India Express has announced the restoration of its Air India Express West Asia flights, resuming operations to key destinations in Oman and Kuwait that were temporarily suspended due to regional tensions during the recent US-Iran conflict.
The airline confirmed that services to Salalah in Oman and Kuwait will gradually return over the coming days, providing relief to passengers and strengthening connectivity between India and the Gulf region.
Flights to Salalah and Kuwait Resume
As part of the phased restoration of Air India Express West Asia flights, the airline has resumed its Kozhikode–Salalah route from July 2. The service will initially operate twice a week, reconnecting travelers from Kerala to one of Oman’s major cities.
Meanwhile, flights between Kozhikode and Kuwait are set to resume from July 3. Initially operating once a week, the frequency will increase to three weekly services starting July 5 as demand recovers.
The airline has also announced the return of Bengaluru–Kuwait services from July 4, with operations increasing from one weekly flight to three flights per week beginning July 7.
Expanded Operations in Oman
The resumption of Air India Express West Asia flights also marks an expansion of the airline’s network in Oman. With services operating from both Muscat International Airport and Salalah International Airport, the carrier is strengthening its presence in the Gulf nation.
In addition, Air India Express will restart flights between Muscat and Mangaluru from July 3. The airline currently operates around 40 weekly flights connecting Muscat with seven destinations across India, highlighting the importance of Oman in its regional network.
Services Suspended Due to Regional Conflict
Several international airlines, including Air India Express, were forced to adjust operations amid heightened tensions in West Asia. The disruptions followed military escalation involving Iran and regional powers, which led airlines to review routes and temporarily suspend certain services.
With the security situation stabilizing, Air India Express West Asia flights are now gradually returning to normal schedules, allowing passengers to travel more conveniently between India and the Gulf.

Kuwait Operations from Terminal 4
The airline has advised passengers that all Kuwait-bound and Kuwait-originating services will operate from Terminal 4 of Kuwait International Airport. Travelers can book tickets for the restored Air India Express West Asia flights through the airline’s official website, mobile application, and other authorized booking platforms.
Abu Dhabi Route from Navi Mumbai Launching Soon
In a separate development, Air India Express recently opened bookings for its upcoming direct service between Navi Mumbai International Airport and Abu Dhabi, scheduled to begin on July 15.
The launch will make Air India Express the first carrier to operate international flights from Maharashtra’s newly developed greenfield airport. The new route is expected to further strengthen the airline’s Gulf connectivity and support growing travel demand between India and the United Arab Emirates.
