Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, Bollywood stars, began a new chapter of their lives in November 2025 with the birth of their son. Earlier this month, the couple revealed their son’s name, Vihaan Kaushal, and Vicky has been open about how much fatherhood has changed him.
Vicky describes parenting as “the most magical feeling.”
Vicky recently told Just Too Filmy that becoming a father has left him feeling both overwhelmed and grateful. When asked about the emotional shift, he replied, “But I can tell you, it’s the most amazing feeling. Sometimes I feel like I can’t put it into words, the feelings you genuinely feel, the wonderful adjectives you can’t link to the experience of becoming a father. It’s a combination of several things. You feel uneasy at times. Sometimes you realize you have to lead by example.”

The actor stated that parenting has made him more aware of his actions, even as he learns to trust himself in his new role. Vicky reflected on how his priorities had shifted, saying, “But overall, it feels like time has suddenly become priceless.” Your centre shifts, and something always draws you back. For the first time, I’m worried about losing my phone. I never thought about it before, but now I have so many images and videos of my baby that I keep thinking, ‘Bas phone na kho jaaye’ (I only hope I do not lose my phone). You crave that time with your child. It is incredibly precious. “It has truly been my greatest blessing.”

Vicky and Katrina welcomed their son on November 7. On January 7, they shared an Instagram photo with admirers, giving them a sweet first look at their newborn. The photo shows the pair carefully caressing their baby’s little hand while hiding his face. The caption stated, “Our ray of light ❤️ Vihaan Kaushal विहान कौशल.” Prayers were answered. Life is beautiful. Our world has transformed in an instant. “Gratitude beyond words.”
Soon after, fans began making connections between their son’s name and Vicky’s well-known on-screen portrayal as Major Vihaan Shergill in Uri: The Surgical Strike, eliciting warm responses online.
What is ahead for Vicky Kaushal?
On the professional front, Vicky is riding high after receiving praise for his portrayal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Chhaava. He will next appear in Love & War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The film is now in production, with a theatrical release scheduled for 2026.
