Sonakshi Sinha slams SC Order to remove Stray Dogs’ “Everyday we expose how Soul-less we became”
Bollywood Actor Sonakshi Sinha has voiced strrong criticism against Supreme’s Court latest order to remove Stray dogs from public spaces calling the move inhumane and “Soul-less”. Her reaction comes amid widespread protests and heated debates over the directive, with activists demanding its revarsal.
On her Instagram stories on Tuesday, Sonakshi shared a lengthy note that narrated the condition of stray dogs in India. Stray dogs were characterized not as an “problem” but as “victims” of fear, hunger, disease, neglect, cruelty, and abandonment. “They live without shelter, without vaccination, without sterilization…just to see their puppies suffer the same fate,” read the post.
It also condemned the idea of uprooting street dogs and enclosing them in overcrowded shelters, where they would be deprived of freedom and identity. “This is not animal welfare. Spaying and vaccinating street dogs is the real, humane solution,” it added.
Sonakshi’s thoughts resonate with those who have been animal lovers and welfare groups clamoring for sterilization drives and vaccination programs instead of mass relocation activities. The public pressure continues to mount on authorities to rethink the order as the controversy rages on.
