Up Cop stands his ground in a heated row with BJP MLC’s Son

A traffic cop calm yet firm response to VIP arrogance is winning hearts online. In Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, a heated altrcation broke out between traffic Constable SP Singh and Tapesh, son of BJP MLC Chaudhary Rishipal Singh, after the latter’s SUV allegedly blocked traffic on a busy road.

Reports say that the Scorpio SUV of Tapesh, holding a “vidhayak” sticker and registered in Aligarh, was parked in such a way that it created a jam. On asking the vehicle to be cleared, Constable Singh was allegedly told to “bhaag yahan se” (“get lost”) by Tapesh. The remark infuriated the officer, who replied, “I am 55 years old, and you are telling me to ‘get lost’? You are maligning your father’s reputation.”

The exchange, captured on video and now viral on social media, shows the officer reminding Tapesh that his actions were creating a traffic jam. Tapesh countered that he was speaking “nicely” and was accusing the cop of damaging the department’s reputation. The officer stood his ground and gave the reply: “If you had spoken nicely, this situation would not have arisen.” He further warned, “I am more educated than you. I know how to talk. You are misusing power,” and mentioned that he would post the video on Facebook.

After managing to catch the last couple of words from Tapesh when he was whispering something to his driver, the car drove off. Constable Singh later said that Tapesh had refused to reveal his identity and even took a photo of him. Such VIP culture, misuse of influence, and demeaning police who are just doing their duty have generated a discussion on social media.
