Brutal Attack in Los Angeles leaves 70-year-old Sikh man in Critical Condition

A peaceful morning turned Violent for Harpal Singh, a 70-year-old Sikh Man, when he was brutally assaulted near a Gurdwara in North Hollywood, Los Angeles. The horrific incident, captured through security footage, has left him battling for his life.

The attacked occurred when MR. Singh was going to his place of Worship. According to authorities, a heated argument with a man later identified as 44-year-old Bo Richard Vitagliano rapidly escalated. The suspect using a Hockey Stick, struck Mr. Singh multiple times, even after he has fallen, resulting in major injuries

Mr. Singh was critical at the moment: He was rushed to the hospital after which he underwent three urgent surgeries to address internal bleeding in his brain and fix all the fractures in his face due to a crisis. The man is under medical survillence and currently under induced coma.

Using the extensive CCTV footage from around the incident, police investigators traced and followed the movement of Vitagliano to arrest him. The arrest was on the site of the intersection near Lankershim Boulevard and Arminta Street, where Vitagliano was found riding the same bicycle revealed on surveillance. The suspect has prior criminal arrests for assault with a deadly weapon, drug offenses, and illegal weapons possession.

While the incident has created profound concern in the Sikh community the LAPD has clarified that it is not treating the incident as a hate crime, citing evidence suggesting the altercation was personal in nature. Community members have assembled at the gurdwara for prayers and to seek justice for Mr. Singh.
